My best friend\'s daughter is too young for a pearl necklace but her mom hit on the idea of earrings for her 17th birthday. I sneakily determined her preferred overtone and metal color, then put in the order. No sense in not going for the best, so I went Collection Quality and 18K yellow gold. The earrings arrived on her birthday and she was THRILLED. I can\'t wait to see them for myself despite not having worked with pearls, I\'m a G.G. (Graduate Gemologist), so I have a good idea of what a quality gem is.

I purchased a pair of 7mm collection pearl studs and was concerned if the quality was as good if not better than Mikimots pearl studs. Eddie, the owner assured me, did not try to sell me but patiently gave me all the information necessary. Eddie exceeded my expectations and the pearls were stunning. I instinctively trust Eddie because I am a business owner myself and know he is telling the truth. American Pearl has a quality product without the Mikimoto price for the same earrings. The customer service surpasses any jewelry store or retail operation I have gone to. I will not go anywhere else when it comes to purchasing pearls. Debra from Illinois. The pearls, and folks, at American Pearl are remarkable and exceptional in every way. I have purchased these earrings as well as other items from them and the quality of their pearls is by far impressive. In addition, their customer service is beyond reproach. In two words--simply stellar. I confidently sing their praises to all of my friends and co-workers. As my daughter comes of age, there is no question where I will purchase her first pair of pearls from.

You could not ask for more from a pearl merchant. The service (ordering/shipping/delivery) is excellent and the merchandise is evidenlty excellent. The proprietor (Eddie) answered questions by phone and by email. If you are worried about the quality, you have 30 days to take the pearls to a jeweler and compare or get an appraisal. There are lower prices available on the web for the same size of pearls, but I was convinced that the quality of less expensive pearls is not the same, and that any lower price must involve Chinese pearls instead of the Japanese http://www.americanpearl.com/akoyapearls.htmlAkoya Pearl. While I couldnt pretend to know the difference, when you are already paying so much for pearls, and consider that they will last more than one lifetime (and will therefore be handed down to other generations), I preferred to pay for the security of being assured of the quality. Having made that decision, the price is much lower that comparable (or even lesser) pearls from Tiffany or Mikimoto. I took Eddies advice and bought the best quality available at the largest size I could afford. The only decision left was rose or silver overtones
