can you tell me how these cables are used in relation to connecting the KVM to a computer and the output mouse and keyboard. Also it is intended to use the KVM to combine s3 key boards and 3 mouse functions to one key board and one mouse while maintaining teh 3 monitors independently, what would this connection look like in realtion to the KVM?
These cables are used to attach the KVM to each computers\' VGA, mouse and keyboard ports, then a single keyboard, mouse and monitor attach directly to the KVM itself.

KVMs are typically designed to share one monitor. To use a KVM as you purpose may or may not work. One major issue would be the onscreen display (OSD) would not be available with no monitors attached to the KVM.

Another solution that may work for you would be the Adder CCS4USB Command & Control Switch https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/ccs4usb-us.html. This switch is specifically designed to work with one keyboard and mouse, and multiple, independent monitors.

If you would like further assistance in selecting an appropriate solution, please give us a call at 1-877-586-6654.

I missing this to my computer. Is this what i need for it to work?
Thank you for your inquiry,

Compatibility would depend on which KVM Switch you are trying to use - The Avocent CBL0029 is a proprietary cable used with certain Avocent KVM Switches.

To get a recommendation for the correct interface cable for your KVM Switch, please feel free to contact your KVM Switches Online sales representative.

I have the Switchview 1000 KVM Switch. Will other cables that are no Avocent work?
Thank you for your inquiry,

We would recommend using only native Avocent KVM cables for the SV 1000 series.

The SV 1000 series is designed to use proprietary Avocent cables (DB15 to VGA + USB + PS2). Even with a generic DB15 to VGA + USB + PS2 cable, the pin-outs could often be different due to the proprietary nature of the cable.
