When using Dominion KVM, how to know connect the hard drive from the host to the IP server?

Each Dominion KX II comes equipped with virtual media to enable remote management tasks using the widest variety of CD, DVD, USB, internal and remote drives and images. With the Dominion KX II virtual media feature, you can mount up to two drives (of different types) that are supported by the USB profile currently applied to the target. These drives are accessible for the duration of the KVM session.

All Raritan D2CIM (Gen 2 Computer Interface Modules) support virtual media sessions to KVM target servers supporting the USB 2.0 interface. The black connector on the DVUSB CIM is used for keyboard and mouse. The gray connector is used for virtual media. Keep both plugs of the CIM connected to the device.

For connecting Virtual Media to the host server, after choosing the correct USB profile for the KVM target server you are connecting to, you can connect Virtual Media from the Virtual KVM Client:
  1. choose "Virtual Media" > "Connect Drive"
  2. Choose the drive from the Local Drive drop-down list
  3. If you want Read and Write capabilities, select the Read-Write checkbox. This option is disabled for non-removable drives. See the Conditions when Read/Write is Not Available (on page 84) for more information. When checked, you will be able to read or write to the connected USB disk. WARNING: Enabling Read/Write access can be dangerous. Simultaneous access to the same drive from more than one entity can result in data corruption. If you do not require Write access, leave this option unselected.
