what does the firmware upgrade cable look like?

Thank you for your inquiry. We are having some trouble tracking down a manual for this discontinued unit from ATEN.

However, looking at other manuals in this series, it appears the cable may have an RJ-11 jack on one end (to plug into the unit near the monitor) and a DB-9 serial connector for the computer.
