Unfortunately, detailed product support is beyond this simple FAQ. Having said that, we have not encountered this type of issue with the Avocent SwitchView secure KVM line.  According to the manual, the start up procedure should be attaching the keyboard and mouse to the switch/servers, powering up the KVM then powering up the servers.
