hello, is this the right cable from older printer (male square plug) to android phone hdmi ( female port) ?
Thank you for your inquiry. This USB adapter does have the Male "Type B" USB Pug (squarish - often used with printers) on one side and the standard "Type A" Female USB receptacle on the other. The "Type A" slot will accept the USB "charging/Snyc" cable from an android phone which has a microUSB connector on the phone side and the typical male "Type A" USB plug on the other.

Usually when talking HDMI cables and Android phones that would be for an MHL (Mobile High-definition Link) connection. This does use the same MicroUSB connection on the phone side, but would have an HDMI connection on the other side for use with TVs or other displays.

This adapter would appear to work for converting the Male "Type A" USB end of the Android USB cable to a Male "Type B" USB plug for use in printers.

However, please note, The "Type B" plug was implemented to prevent the USB cable from being connected backwards between the printer and the computer. So, while this adapter would fit, it would not allow communication between the Android phone and printer.

There are a number of options to print from an Android device. There is a nice write up on How-To Geek that discusses a number of options. See the article here: https://www.howtogeek.com/165778/everything-you-need-to-know-about-printing-from-your-android-phone-or-tablet/.
