Since there is no active signal conversion within the KVM, it is important to ensure that the same type of signal is passing from the target computer to KVM as is passing from KVM to the monitor.  A DIV-D connection from the target computer to the KVM will only send a digital video signal, while the DVI-I to VGA adapter will only use analog signals.  To use a VGA monitor you will need to ensure the target computers are sending an analog signal.
